I’m getting bigger!

Boy, have I grown a lot since I came to live with my new family or what? I’m almost 27 pounds now - nearly 20 pounds more than I was back then!

OH!! I started school a couple of weeks ago, and I love it!! I have to try to focus more on my studies, though, and less on the other furry kids in my class. I’m the biggest puppy in my puppy class, so next class, I get to play with the adult dogs. I’m a little nervous, but I’m sure they’ll love me! AND - I get lots of hot dog treats when I do what I’m supposed to do, and I LOVE hot dog treats!

Here’s a picture of me on the new rug my family put in the kitchen. It sort of looks and feels like grass, but I learned pretty quick that it wasn’t grass. I like it, though - it’s really soft and fun to play on.

Here’s another picture of me that shows off my ears. The better to hear you with, my dear!

That’s all for now!

Cottonheaded Finnymuggins.

In honor of my 14-week birthday today, here’s a picture of me on my first day at home:

I weighed about 9 pounds there. Last night, when we went shopping at Petsmart (I got a yummy pressed rawhide bone that tastes like peanut butter), I got on the scale and weighed 20 pounds! I’m getting huge!

Photo Friday!

About a month ago, I was playing in the yard with Roy when I had a bit of a tumble:

Roy didn’t even stop to check on me, but that’s okay - I think he was glad to have a momentary break from my pouncing on him.

Sticky situation.

So how does one celebrate being Puppy of the Day? By running around in the woods, of course!

Last night, we went to Taigan’s house for a walk. When we got to the woodsy part of the neighborhood, where there was just a trail and trees and no houses or cars, I got to be off of my leash and run around with Taigan. It was so much fun!! I ran in the bushes, and around trees, and up and down hills. I almost fell into a hole but missed it by that much.

When we got back to the house, I was covered in little green sticky things that I think are called burrs. Whatever they are, they didn’t bother me much, but they bothered everyone else and the next thing I know I’m having my fur pulled out along with the burrs.

When we got back to our house, I had to have a bath. I like water, but I’m not big on baths. So I squirmed and whined enough to show my displeasure. At the end of the bath, I got wrapped up in a big, fluffy towel. I really like that part, so maybe I can get used to the bath part.

I hope I get to run around the woods again - it was the best thing ever! I’m even willing to get burrs and baths again to run around in the woods!!

My first 15 minutes of fame!

This weekend was noisy. I’m not sure what was going on, but Roy sure didn’t like it. The noises didn’t last for long, thank goodness. Because of the noises and because it was so hot outside, we didn’t get to go for our park walks this weekend. I love going to the park, so I wasn’t very happy. Hopefully, we’ll get to go to the park tonight, because I miss it!

I got to play in our yard, though. Here’s a picture of me running - I run really fast!

I also played inside, too. I’ve been trying to get Rags to like me. My strategy so far has been to jump on him and pin him down. That really hasn’t worked out so well, so lately I’ve incorporated barking at him to get his attention:

One day we’ll be pals - I just know it!

It’s new to me!

I’m a puppy, so I’m all for trying new things. I have to be, since I’m only 12 weeks old (today!) and therefore just about everything is new to me.

So what new thing will I try today? I think I’ll try to post a new picture of me every day! Okay, so it might be every other day or so - the point is, new is good, and pictures are good, so new pictures all the time must be really, really good.

To get the ball rolling (did someone say a ball is rolling somewhere?), I picked out a picture of me taken on Sunday. I was at my grandparents’ house, relaxing in a shady spot under a big tree:

Aren’t I just the most precious thing?

Summer is the best thing ever!

Another week, another fun weekend!

We’ve been walking at Oak Grove Park almost every night. It’s so much fun. Everyone we meet there is so nice. I think Roy gets a little jealous because so many people stop to tell me how pretty I am. He’s a boy, so he can’t be pretty. I don’t know what he’s all in a fuss about.

I ride in a new car crate when we go out now. I guess I’m getting too big to hold or something, but I like the crate. It’s blue and I can move around inside as much as I want. Roy rides in there with me sometimes, too. It’s like a mobile slumber party!

Saturday started off pretty good, because I got to go to Petsmart. But then I got left there, and had to get shots. I didn’t mind that much, though. I know they are for my own good. When I got home, Roy and I got baths - we both smelled so good! Saturday night, we went to Taigan’s house for a birthday party. There were a bunch of people there, and everyone was really nice and played with me. Me, Taigan and Roy ran around and around. I was especially vicious:

But we’re really good friends:

During dinner, I got to eat grilled chicken. I love grilled chicken! I got tired fast, though. It must have been the shots. I spent most of the latter part of the evening sleeping under various chairs, while Roy sat on many laps. He looked like he was having a good time, but I preferred the nice, cool deck to sleep on.

Sunday, we went to the grandparents’ house and Roy and I played with them and Alyssa. That was a whole lot of fun - I even got to eat hot dogs again - yes!

Sunday night, Roy and I played tug o’ war:

That’s my favorite game right now. I think he likes it, too.

I don’t know what is in store for this week, but I’ve heard some talk about something called “classes.” I’ll let you know what that is when I find out!

There’s always someone bigger than you.

On Monday night we went to the park with Taigan and his family. It was so much fun! We didn’t take any pictures, but that’s okay - we were having too much fun playing.

Someone DID take pictures when me and Roy played with Taigan a couple of weeks ago. Here’s me and Taigan:

I’m a bit bigger now than I was in this picture. When we played on Monday night, I nipped Taigan on the ear and made him yelp. That made me laugh - he makes me yelp all the time!

Last night, me and Roy and my family walked around the park by ourselves. Lots of people stopped to say hello to me, including a couple with a HUGE St. Bernard named Daisy. She was the biggest dog I’d ever seen! I hope I get that big, so I can show Taigan who’s in charge.

I got to ride to and from the park in my new car crate. My family got it yesterday, and it sits in the back seat. Now I don’t have to sit on a lap when I ride in the car - I can move around in my crate. Plus, someone said I’d be safer. I don’t know what that means, but it must be important.
